Little Robin Redbreast........

Hello there!

It's time for another challenge at Colour Crazy Challenge and this time we are sponsored by the fantastic Polkadoodles, head over to the blog to see what you can win this time! Our theme is 'Anything Goes' and I opted for a Winter image this time.

Now the whole reason I am back as a Guest Design Team member is because I posted on Facebook a card I made a year ago from the Picnix Nordic Winter Collection coloured with pencils.

This is a lovely collection and I encourage everyone to check it out.

This lead to a funny little chat with some FB friends and former DT buddies including the dynamic Nikky Hall, about rejoining a design team as a guest DT and colouring the image again.

So facebook friends, this one is for you - because it's all your fault I'm here again, you've only yourselves to blame!! I would especially like to dedicate this card to my lovely friend Bella Yvette, your lovely kind words, encouragement and support is always welcome and much needed! Thank you for being you x

So enough of the mushy :) - here I am this time, with the gorgeous Robin from the Nordic Winter Collection and this time he is coloured with Graph'It Markers (obviously).  You can get the collection as a download or as a CD.

I've only ever coloured this image twice, once with pencils and today with markers. I am quite pleased with how he turned out.

Now I thought to myself, well I don't know if he's ok, I'll ask for another opinion and then when you do that, and you're waiting.......you pick up the markers and decided to 'tweak' aspects of the colouring. I'm not sure I made him better or worse, but the 'tweaked' image is the one that is on the final card!

I used the following markers:
Redbreast: 2015, 2110, 2130, 2160, 2170, 5220
Remainder: 4125, 3105, 3110, 3150, 3250, 3280
Branch: 3150, 3270, 3290, 8150, 8190, 5220, 5245

So really my 'redbreast' is more predominantly orange - but I think it all works. I think.........

I cut my little Robin out with one of the new Cutting Dies from Polkadoodles - I used 'Bubbleicious Frames' which you can get here. Now I printed out the Robin at 3.5 inches and as you can see he fits in fine. Some of the branch gets cut off and into the die but I liked that. I edged round the image with Distress Ink 'Antique Linen' to soften the white.

I made a 6x6 card and I opted to use some Wild Rose Studio Christmas 6x6 papers. I used Kraft card for the backing and I opted to cut the flower you get in the die pack for a wee embellishment,

It's a rather simple card but I wanted my Robin to be the focus.

So there you have him, I hope you like the finished card. Please remember to pop onto the main blog and take part in the fun, we love to see your colouring, you can use any medium you like to play along as long as it is handmade by you!

Thanks for stopping by, until next time!

Hugs

Yvonne x
